More Than 35 Websites Where You Can Post Stories for Feedback

Updates: Sept. 23, 2016 and Oct. 18, 2013. Original post: Oct. 15, 2010.

Six years ago, I published a list of 15 websites where you can post stories for feedback. It was the most popular page on my website with nearly 40,000 views. For the post's three-year anniversary, I updated it on Oct. 18, 2013, and increased the list to more than 25 sites. The post now has more than 235,000 views, so it's time to do another update. I removed listings of sites shut down, updated quotes from sites, and increased the list to include more than 35 sites where you can upload original fiction and nonfiction short stories, chapters and books. Many of the websites added to the list were suggested by readers.

(Disclaimer: Vic's Lab, LLC, which operates VicsLab.com, is the publisher of my Vecto light novels, Vecto: Vengeance and Vecto: Voyage. You can visit my page at vicslab.com/members/reidkemper. I also use Wattpad.com.)

Below is the updated post with a list of more than 35 sites where you can submit writings for an online community to read. Feel free to share links to this article to help your fellow writers.

More Than 35 Websites Where You Can Post Stories for Feedback

Writers need feedback, and many beginning writers opt to post their stories on websites where others can rate them and comment on them. Of course, writers should be careful when posting stories online. Many publishers consider anything posted online to be published and may not accept those works. However, other publishers are now seeking out self-published works that have a strong following.

If you don't write, there are plenty of fiction to read on these sites, including science fiction. You may have to filter through some badly written manuscripts, though, to find a gem.

Ideally, local writing groups are good sources of feedback, but for those who want to share their original writings with the world or members-only online communities, here is a list of more than 35 websites where you can post stories (in alphabetical order with a quote from each website):

Half off print book, free ebook, and 99 cents for sequel?

Half off print book, free ebook, and 99 cents for sequel? I'll get to that in a moment.

Vecto: Vengeance
It's been a long time since I've posted on this blog. Nowadays, when not working my 60-hour day job, my free time is been spent on my books. Although I want to post about scifi in general like I used to, I'm torn between using that hour or so to do that or using that time to promote my books. I chose the latter, so I've unfortunately neglected this blog, which I didn't want to end up being used solely for self-promotion.

Vecto: Voyage
My time has been spent posting parts of my books on Wattpad, where I have more than 34 thousand reads for Vecto: Vengeance, writing the second book, Vecto: Vengeance, which was published last month, and now working on the third book. Although sales are not what I expected, I'm happy that people actually read my work. Just recently, Vengeance was ranked the #1 free book on Amazon in three categories.

Yes, I am shamelessly promoting my books. My stories are what I'm passionate about, and I want to share them. I have some deals for you, though, so I hope you enjoy them.

You can get Vecto: Vengeance in print for half off, which comes to less than $4 if you go to Createspace.com here and use the code LJP7FTNH in the checkout. Also, this Saturday, May 14, 2016, you can get the Kinde ebook version of the book for free. Not only that, you can get the sequel, Vecto: Voyage for 99 cents starting Saturday, which will run until the following Friday.

I hope you give my books a chance. If you like them, please consider reviewing the books on Amazon. Thank you for your time!
